Norwalk-Based Cheer Team Jumps Into New Season NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk-based Xtreme Cheer heads into a new season of competition with its largest squad yet, including 10 teams and more than 150 members. “We’re proud of our growth and excited to be heading to our first big competition this year,’’ said co-owner Dana Talbot, whose team heads to the Beast of the East Winter Nationals this weekend in Atlantic City, N.J. Popular Spinning Fundraiser Moves To Westport WESTPORT, Conn. – A popular Spinning fundraiser for breast cancer research held by the American Cancer Society will switch venues from Norwalk to Westport this spring. SpinOdyssey 2013 will be held outdoors under a tent on May 5 at the town-owned commuter parking lot on Imperial Avenue in Westport. The site is also the home of the Westport Farmers Market. The event had previously been held at the Intensity Tennis and Fitness Club in Norwalk in March. Registration is now open. Early Registration Ends Thursday For Wilton Little League WILTON, Conn. – Early registration for all baseball programs in the Wilton Little League ends today. A late fee of $75 will be imposed beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18. T-ball programs will not have a late registration fee. Softball also has no late fees or closing date. Players in grades 1 to 7 can register to play baseball. Kindergartners play T-ball. Evaluations will be held Jan. 27 at the Wilton High School fieldhouse for players in Grade 3 and up. Players in grades kindergarten through seventh grade can register online. There are four divisions, beginning with t-ball for kindergarten students. A late fee will be assessed after Feb. 17. The clinics continue through March 3. The sessions are from noon to 1:45 p.m., and the cost is $175 for incoming 13-year-old players. Greenwich's Kyle Feeney Selected In Lacrosse Draft GREENWICH, Conn. – Greenwich’s Kyle Feeney, a senior goalie for the men’s lacrosse team at Bucknell University, was selected in the eighth round of the Major League Lacrosse Draft last week. Feeney was chosen by the Charlotte Hounds, and was one of only two goalies selected in the draft. Two other players from Fairfield County, Ridgefield’s Matt White and New Canaan’s Charlie Streep, also were selected in the draft. White also was picked by Charlotte.
