Ridgefield Boys Basketball Falls To Norwalk RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – The Ridgefield’s boys basketball team ran out of steam in the fourth quarter Friday as Norwalk closed the game with a 22-8 run to earn the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference victory. Ridgefield (7-2 overall, 5-2 in the conference) may have lost more than the game. Leading scorer Kurt Steidl appeared to suffer a sprained ankle with about a minute remaining. Friday’s 61-47 triumph over Ridgefield High may have been the one the Bears needed to get over the hump. Norwalk Little League Hosts Registration, Pizza Night NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Little Legue will hold a pizza party and registration Friday, Jan. 11, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Batter’s Box. Players can also register online. The Batter’s Box is located at 327 Main Ave. in Norwalk. Players will receive complimentary use of the batting cages. Site Changed For Danbury Race To Aid Newtown Victims DANBURY, Conn. – The site for a Danbury race in March to support families affected by the shootings in Newtown has been changed. The Sandy Hook Run for the Families March 23 will be in downtown Danbury. The race had been scheduled for the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University. The site was changed Thursday to give more runners an opportunity to participate. A release said the new site will allow for 10,000 participants. The race includes a 5k run and a fun run for kids. The manager of the Stamford American Legion Junior Division baseball team hated to say goodbye to 2012. Westport beat Trumbull, 38-6, in a Fairfield County Basketball League game and Danbury, 20-16, in a non-league contest.
