Fairfield Prep, Notre Dame Meet In Basketball Final FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Undefeated Fairfield Prep and once-beaten Notre Dame of Fairfield will play for the championship Friday in the Fairfield Prep Holiday Classic. The Jesuits (5-0) advanced with a 65-35 win over Fairfield Ludlowe (2-3) in Wednesday’s opening round. The Lancers (3-1) defeated Fairfield Warde in overtime, 70-62, in Wednesday’s other opening round game. The championship game tips off at 8 p.m. at Alumni Hall on the campus of Fairfield University. Joel Barlow Girls Basketball Falls To Notre Dame REDDING, Conn. – Joel Barlow’s girls basketball team stood toe-to-toe with undefeated Notre Dame of Fairfield for three quarters Friday night. Unfortunately for the Falcons, a dismal second quarter proved to be the difference as the Lancers posted a 54-36 victory. Sarah McAniff and Drew Bartro scored nine points apiece for Barlow (2-2). Notre Dame Of Fairfield Girls Remain Unbeaten FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Notre Dame of Fairfield’s 54-36 girls basketball victory over Joel Barlow on Thursday may have been its most impressive of the season. The Lancers exploded for 22 straight points in the second quarter to erase a three-point deficit and take a 32-11 lead into halftime.
