The Bears enter their Thanksgiving Day rivalry against Brien McMahon with a 3-5 mark after picking up a forfeit win Tuesday versus Westhill. Westhill falls to 1-8 entering Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day game at Boyle Stadium against Stamford High (2-7). More importantly, however, the loss affects Trinity Catholic (7-2) in its Thanksgiving game at Wilton (10:30 a.m.). Top-seeded Norwalk advanced with a 2-1 win over Stamford in the semifinals, while Fairfield Prep squeaked past Greenwich, 1-0, with a 7-5 victory in penalty kicks. Norwalk won its only state title in 1966. Fairfield Prep has never played in a state championship game.
