Wilton White 4th-Graders Win Football Opener WILTON, Conn. – The Wilton White fourth-grade football team opened its season with a 27-12 win over New Canaan in the Fairfield County Football League. Blake Pagano-Walley scored on two touchdown runs and a conversion for Wilton. Sean Sullivan had a big day running the football as well, and had a 45-yard scoring run. Wilton Sixth-Graders Win Football Opener WILTON, Conn. – The sixth-grade Wilton Blue football team defeated Ridgefield in its season-opening game in the Fairfield County Football League, 12-6. Kyle Philllips returned an interception for Wilton’s first touchdown. He added a 40-yard run for the second touchdown. Wilton’s defense was tested frequently by Ridgefield, but a unit led by Joey Seaman, Reilly Bingaman, Jake Stein, Thomas Sullivan, Cole Barnes and Max Colburn helped Wilton hold on for victory. Wilton plays at New Canaan High School Saturday at 10 a.m.

Wilton Blue 4th-Grade Football Team Takes Opener WILTON, Conn. – Wooder Thoby scored three touchdowns as the Wilton Blue fourth-grade football team defeated New Canaan Black, 28-16, in its season-opening game in the Fairfield County Football League. Kyle Burns also scored a touchdown for Wilton, while Brady Polito and Max Mannino ran in for conversions. Wilton’s defense was led by E.J. Fasano, Michael Burton, Luke O’Neil, Christian Theoharides, Ashton Argento, Dante Filipponi, Kiel Polito, Thoby, Logan Brady, David Boal and Nolan Graham. Wilton plays New Canaan Red on Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Canaan High School.

The cycling event is the largest road stage race for professional and amateur cyclists east of the Mississippi River, according to the race website. Bevilicqua won Category 3/4 of the race, which consisted of four stages. In the first stage, a hilly 6-mile time trial, Bevilicqua took a commanding lead of one minute and two seconds. This summer, the Norwalk native has been instrumental in helping the New Canaan Cannons roll to the front of the pack in the Fairfield County Men’s Senior Baseball League. Christopher Dragon, sailed by Andrew Weiss of Larchmont Yacht Club and Storm Trysail Club, was the winner of the IRC handicap class for the 238-mile Vineyard Race.
