Westport Teen Goes Distance To Win National Swim Title WESTPORT, Conn. – Not only did Verity Abel win a national championship at the YMCA Long Course Swimming Nationals, the Westport girl also accomplished it in one of the toughest events for a young swimmer. Abel, a rising junior at Staples High School, won the 1,500 meters freestyle while competing for the Wilton Wahoos. Fairfield's Kinsley Competes In Javelin At Olympics FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield’s Craig Kinsley finished 10th in Group B during the javelin competition Wednesday at the Summer Olympics in London. He did not qualify for the final. Kinsley’s best throw was 78.18 meters. The final qualifier in his group threw 81.74 meters.  Kinsley had the best throw among U.S. team members. Kinsley graduated from Brown University in 2011 and from Fairfield Prep in 2007.
