The former Maritime Rowing Club member won a bronze medal with the United States men’s four in the final day of rowing Saturday in Eton, England. Cole and teammates Scott Gault, Henrik Rummel and Glen Ochal finished third. Britian won, followed by Australia. Norwalk Riptide 12s Win Softball Championship NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Riptide 12-and-under softball team won the B Division of the Fairfield County Fastpitch Softball League with a 11-4 win versus Bethel in the championship game. The Riptide finished the tournament 5-0. In the title game, Norwalk broke open a tight game in the fifth inning. Dina DiBlasio, Mackenzie Lowden, Gabby Catino, Keara Meyerson, Skylar Suda and Brianny Garcia led the offense. Jessica Otto, Brenda Garcia and Jillian Howe made good defense plays. Darien Diver Adds Two More County Titles DARIEN, Conn. – Darien’s Elizabeth Fitzpatrick added two more county diving titles in the girls 17-and-under division as the Fairfield County Swim League held its age group championships. Fitzpatrick, competing for Tokeneke Club in Darien, won the girls 1- and 3-meter boards in the 17-and-under division. She compiled 399.8 points in the 3-meter, winning by more than 95 over Kirsten Parkinson of Long Ridge Club. Ariana Ross of New Canaan took third with 293.7.
