Norwalk River Rowing Crews Win 6 Golds NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk River Rowing Association crews won six gold medals at the Long Island Junior Championships. Alexandra Stonehill and Caroline Demko put on a great display in the Women's 2-, beating Saugatuck by 16.67 seconds. Stonehill and Demko had an unintended prerace swim when an equipment problem caused a boat flip. The men's Lightweight 2x also won a gold medal with Chad Ballard and James Koenigsberg. Wilton Masters Win Medals at National Meet WILTON, Conn. — The Wilton Y Masters team came in sixth place in the combined women's and men's scores in the 2012 Masters Short Course YMCA Nationals last month in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The women's team came in third, and the men's team came in eighth. Jim Lewis, in his third year at this event, competed on the freestyle leg of the men's 45-and-over 200 medley relay, which won a gold medal. Fairfield County Soccer Team in Regional Final FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – The Everton America CT Under-13 boys soccer team, which includes many players from Fairfield County, will compete on Saturday in the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Northeast League Final against Western United FC of Southborough, Mass.  The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. at Kristine Lilly Field in Wilton. Norwalk Pitcher Earns League Honor at Southern NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk’s Rocco Cundari, a sophomore at Southern Connecticut State University, was named to the Northeast-10 Conference honor roll after he pitched a complete game last week. The Brien McMahon graduate gave up one run on three hits in a 1-0 loss to Pace University. He struck out four in eight innings.
