Fairfield Warde Boys Track Splits Meet FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield Warde’s boys track team split a tri-meet against Harding and Norwalk on Tuesday. The Mustangs beat Harding handily, but fell to Norwalk 87.5-62.5. Alex Perez won the shot put and discus, while Andrew DeCastro (discus), Dylan Lindeberg (javelin) and Alec Jobsen (javelin) also performed well in throwing events. Joe Miro led Warde in the 100, 200 and long jump. Alex Lorenzo ran a strong 110 hurdles race, and had Warde’s top performance in the triple jump. Gary Azarian also had an excellent triple jump. New Canaan Rower Reaches U.S. Finals FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – New Canaan rower Andrew Campbell took a step toward earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic team, while the dream apparently died for Rowayton’s Brian de Regt in the USRowing selection events Wednesday in Chula Vista, Calif. Campbell, who rowed for New Canaan Crew out of Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk, and teammate Will Daly won the second semifinal in the lightweight doubles scull. Wilton Wahoos Finish 9th at Nationals WILTON, Conn. — The Wilton Y Wahoos finished ninth in the combined team standings and led all Connecticut teams with 417 points at the Short Course National Championships in Greensboro, N.C. This year, 83 teams participated. The Wahoo's finished eighth out of 61 in the men's division (261) and 10th out of 56 in the women's division (187). Eric Ronda of Greenwich won the men's 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:58.82. New Canaan Girls Track Wins 2 Meets NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The New Canaan High School girls track team defeated Stamford and Fairfield Ludlowe in a meet Monday.
