Wilton Athletes Run in Colgate Women's Games WILTON, Conn. - Brynn Parsons and Kafesha Thomas of the Connecticut Elite Track and Field Club opened the Colgate Women's Games in Brooklyn, N.Y. with a couple of outstanding performances.   Parsons placed fourth overall in the 55 meter dash and 10th in the 200 in times of 7.2 and 27.2, respectively. Staples Girls Hold Off Trinity WESTPORT, Conn. – Erica Stein scored 21 points as Staples girls basketball team won for the fourth time in five games Tuesday with a 51-48 victory over Trinity Catholic. Jess Coelho added 15 points for the Wreckers. Mackenzie Griffin scored 18 to lead Trinity Catholic. Trinity led 9-3 after the first quarter. Staples responded with a 19-6 second quarter run to take a 22-15 halftime lead. The Wreckers led 37-29 after three quarters. The award is presented annually to the top college football player who is a resident of the state.The Connecticut player of the year is selected by the all-volunteer membership of the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
