Trinity Catholic Girls Fall to Trumbull STAMFORD, Conn. Trinity Catholics girls basketball team has the potential to win a lot of games this winter. But if the Crusaders are going to compete for a league championship, they will have to polish up their play, particularly on the perimeter. Sacred Heart Women Roll to Another Win FAIRFIELD, Conn. Callan Taylor scored 23 points as the Sacred Heart University womens basketball team defeated St. Peters Thursday night, 80-55, for its eighth win in nine games. Gabrielle Washington and Blair Koniszewski added 10 apiece for the Pioneers. Sacred Heart returns home from a three-game road trip to play Sunday at home at 1 p.m. against Cal Poly. Rye Country Day Boys Top Greens Farms WESTPORT, Conn. Alex Gendelman scored 27 points for Rye Country Day in a 83-64 boys basketball victory Thursday over Greens Farms Academy in a Fairchester Athletic Association game. Dariens Patrick Ryan scored 20 points for the Dragons. Rye Country Day (3-1) led 31-25 at halftime. Tryouts Planned for Connecticut Tides NORWALK, Conn. The Connecticut Tides will hold tryouts in January for its 2012 baseball teams. Tryouts will be held at the Batters Box, 327 Main Ave., Norwalk.
