Brien McMahon to Mark 50th Year With Dinner-Dance NORWALK, Conn. ? Brien McMahon High School will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 29, with a dinner-dance at Chatham Manor on Connecticut Avenue.  Tickets are $40 and include a reception hour, buffet dinner, guest speakers and music. Marinello's Reclaims Norwalk Softball Crown NORWALK, Conn. – Marinello’s Pizzeria has been the dominant team in Norwalk Recreation and Parks softball for nearly a decade. After it failed to win the East Division title last year, some thought the team might be in decline. Monday, however, Marinello’s veteran lineup showed it still has some fight left. The pizza powerhouse outslugged the defending champion Aces twice, 25-22 and 26-20, to win the city championship at Calf Pasture Beach. Staples (9-2-4) is seeded fourth with one regular season game remaining. It meets Harding on Wednesday and has secured a berth in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference tournament. Danbury (6-2-7) is fighting for a playoff berth. Staples started strong, and its work was rewarded in the 48th minute when Dylan Hoy and Lorenz Esposito worked a perfect give-and-go. Wilton's girls finished with 97 points, while Ridgefield won with 56 in the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference event. Greenwich was second with 80.
